That is such exciting news!! I love the Monday Editions publishing model so much! It is truly the best of both publishing worlds for the poets and such a labor of love and generosity on your part! Would I have had to be a paid subscriber to Monday Editions to get a limited edition copy? At the moment, I'm a paid subscriber with Diary Poems but not Monday Editions. But I will pay for both if necessary.
To get a copy of the limited edition, you would have needed to buy it directly from the author. Paying subsribers to Diary Poems and Monday Editions get copies of my books, but sales and distribution of other books by Monday Editions authors are out of my hands. Monday Editions has a second (open) edition of Rebecca Weil's book in the works right now, and it will be available on Amazon shortly (a week or so).
Oh thanks for helping me understand better how this works! It totally makes sense that the First Edition would sell out before anyone but the poet's own connections would know about it! I'm delighted to know there'll be a second (open) edition available on Amazon soon and will certainly order it! The open edition of Mortal Sugar is beautiful and I know Rebecca Weil's book will be too!
I forgot to say that is a gorgeous and perfect cover illustration by Kristen Griger. Is she an artist you know personally? Did you commission it for the book or discover it?
Warm congratulations to you, Rebecca! So exciting! If you ever decide to share/sell an electronic version of the book, I’d order it! Not really feasible for me to order a hard copy, lovely as it is, as I am in nomad mode….
I love the whole project — connecting poetry to gifting back to the bears. The cover is gorgeous too! Sooo sorry to miss the ordering a first printing and looking forward to next printing!
X.P.'s model of gift-economy publishing is very inspiring. Glad to keep it moving forward to support the bears. Sorry you missed the first printing, it went very quickly, glad there will be another one!
Tiny nitpicking correction from the publisher: this will be a second EDITION, not a second printing. The second edition will be open, meaning it will not be signed or numbered, and you can buy it directly from Amazon.
!!!!!!!

Thanks, Mary, and there is a tiny bear on the back cover, too. The artist is a friend or perhaps a relative of the poet, Rebecca Weil.
Thanks for the information.
Hi, Mary - Kristen Griger is a self-taught artist/friend who lives nearby. I love her work. This was her first for bears.
Warm congratulations to you, Rebecca! So exciting! If you ever decide to share/sell an electronic version of the book, I’d order it! Not really feasible for me to order a hard copy, lovely as it is, as I am in nomad mode….
Such a good idea. Will let you know if that develops.

Rebecca, congratulations to you♥️ I was, as usual too late, but will catch up!

Sorry won’t get a signed copy😿 Will proceeds from sales of second printing also be donated?
Yes.
👍♥️🙏
Wonderful news! I'll order my copy as soon as they are again available. The success of Monday Editions thrills me.
What a good problem to have!
