VERTIGO, JANUARY 1956
Quilted bathrobe, red piping with repeated
Gingham Dog and Calico Cat. Bugs Bunny,
Tom and Jerry, Heckle and Jeckle, Popeye,
Porky Pig, Casper the Friendly Ghost. TV
slow to start—the screen’s white dot maddens. Outside,
snow coming down, elevator going up.

It must have been mid-morning on a Monday, with all the fuss of Easter Sunday and the chocolate eggs already behind
I loved Saturday morning cartoons in the 1960s. My dad liked Boris and Natasha, because the humor was layered for kids and adults. I remember him half asleep on the couch in the early morning. My sisters must both have been asleep, too. Just me, and my Dad. Thanks for the memory.
